Did you know that apparently Michelangelo could walk up to a wall and draw an absolutely perfect 6foot circle?

Ofcourse this isn’t really necessary these days but it’s hard to draw a good circle and its something that takes practice, often students want to skip to the harder stuff without mastering the fundatmentals and even when you have been drawing a while sometimes its good to just go aback and practice the basics to provide some renewed inspirtion and refine your techniques. So, today and everyday this week I will be practicing circles, lines, ovals, spirals etc

This one is from my college days that I just came across whilst sorting the studio, thought you might like a looksie

I remember doing this one, it took sooooo long but enjoyed making all the dots

A couple of fun little sketches for the evening playing with Derwent Watersoluable sketching pencils

It’s for a colouring page, for kids to colour in  for the Business Mums Network. I worked with original handdrawn sketches on this one, and then scanned them in and worked on them digitally.I found the process worked very well, it was sort of experimental i played around with a few different processes before i found one that worked for me.

I am happy with the way it worked out Quite the different experience but i enjoyed it thoroughly

Here is my first sketch from this book. The inspiration was from some pears that i bought at the shops, i actually meant to do a coloured pencil piece with them as they had wonderful colours but i just didn’t get to it in time.

I hope to do many more of these in the future as drawings and prints to sell as well as in my sketchbook. They are great fun to do but take a while !!
