About me ( Belinda)
Artist, Illustrator & Designer – Central Coast, NSW Australia.
Artist Statement
I am gifted to own a creative heart . I have always been creating and drawing from a very young age. During my career as a graphic/web designer I realised that I always “wished” I could be an artist/illustrator. One day I asked myself “Well why don’t you?” and from that moment on I knew I had to pursue my artistic journey.
In around 2001, I discovered the amazing world of coloured pencil art and the online artist community.
Since then I have lived and learned from other artists and resources online and have pushed myself further in my skills as and artist whilst learning more about the art industry / business.
Today, I love the fact that I can incorporate creative and artistic projects into my life. I specialise in coloured pencil artworks and also enjoy other mediums such as oils, acrylics, watercolour and digital each for their own merits. My creation process is influenced by my “vision” for the artwork and my broad range of experiences allows me luxury of choosing ways to communicate my idea.
Connecting with people locally via my work with the CCAS (Central Coast Art Society) as well as online in various communities is something I enjoy and feel passionate about. I recently have rediscovered my joy for teaching and gain much inspiration through teaching workshops and sharing my experiences through my blog, which is also an important part of my artistic process one I could not do without.
The Australian Coloured Pencil Network is a website I have created to help support the online Australian Coloured pencil community and a project I am looking forward to continue supporting to help promote coloured pencil art in Australia.

Coloured Pencil Artworks
“I love working with coloured pencils in my artworks, it’s a fantastic medium not so widely recognised within the Australian art community.
Artwork created with coloured pencils takes patience and love. It takes 20+ layers of pencil over each area of the artwork to get the rich painterly effect and detail for each completed piece. It takes a long time especially for large pieces which is why alot of coloured pencil artworks are not overly large in dimensions and why they are usually at a higher price point that other pieces of artwork at the same size, it takes lots and lots of time.”
Belinda has also started the > Australian Coloured Pencils website for an friendly online community of coloured pencil artists created to try to promote and support coloured pencil art in Australia
